FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you've got a question you may find the answer here, but of course please don't hesitate to get in touch with any queries

Q.  What size cake do I need?

A.  Please look at the INFO where there is a guide to the amount of portions you can expect to get from different sized cakes.

Q. Can I have any tiers of my wedding cake made in sponge?

A. Your wedding cake can be all fruit, all sponge or a combination of both. Check out the INFO section for flavours.

Q. Do you use a cake mix for either your wedding fruit cake or sponge?

A. No – I never use any prepared mixes.  All the cakes are homemade using fresh ingredients and no artificial additives or preservatives.

Q. I don't like certain ingredients in wedding cake, can some of these be left out?

A. Yes - as the wedding fruit cakes are mixed individually and are not prepared mixes I can add or omit anything you do or do not like.   I can also make cakes to cater for food allergies.

Q.  Does my wedding anniversary have a special meaning?

A.  Yes, most people know about a 25th, 40th or 50th anniversary, but please look at the Anniversary Cakes section for information on other anniversaries and their meanings.

Q. How far in advance do I need to order a wedding cake?

A. I prefer at least three months notice for ordering a wedding cake but subject to availability I can make cakes at short notice.

Q. Do I have to order one of the wedding cake designs from your website?

A. Not at all - I pride myself on designing unique, individual wedding cakes and can create the cake of your dreams incorporating your colour scheme, ideas and wishes - just call to discuss details with no obligation.

Q. I like a wedding cake on your website but would like it a different shape, Is this possible?

A. Yes your wedding cake can be any shape you wish; round, square, diamond, heart, oblong or even a combination    if you wish.

Q. Can you make bride and groom figures that look like us?

A. Yes to a certain extent - the figures I make are not sculptures but can be made to look similar in, build, hair/eye colour and clothes etc.
